Jane - Founder & Holistic Groomer

Hi I’m Jane and I opened The Natural Groomers in Hove in 2022.

My journey into Pet grooming began 16 years ago with my old rescue dog, Ted - a sensitive soul who needed the world to move more gently.

Traditional grooming overwhelmed him, so I trained at Plumpton College, hoping to offer him the calm he deserved. What began as a simple act of love grew into a lifelong devotion to holistic, mindful care.

Since opening my first Salon around 2010, I’ve expanded my studies to into Canine/Feline Nutrition, Reiki/Healing, Massage and Cat grooming, I realised how many Dogs and Cats carry quiet stories of stress, sensitivity and past experiences and I so wanted to help them.

I’ve also lived with a whole pack of Rescues over the years- - 6 at one point - and they’ve taught me patience, empathy and the importance of meeting each animal exactly where they are!

The Natural Groomers is shaped by those lessons, a peaceful (most of the time :) chemical-free space where every dog is treated with kindness, respect and the same gentle care I give my own.

  • Spicy, reactive, ' I’ll think about it’ types Canine and Feline.

Malcolm - Partner and General Dogs Body

Hi I’m Malc and I built the interior of the shop in 2022.

After always having had cats in my life, since I met Jane I have definately become a dog person as well. Jane introduced me to rescuing dogs, indeed at one point we had a pack of 6 which included a Greek, (who was dumped in a lay by in front of us in Corfu), 2 Rommies, and 3 Brits. Having rescue dogs has helped me to understand the complexities of their wants and needs whether its just time and space, nutritional support, or good old fashioned love.

My input in bulding an environment for the animals that come in has also meant that I get to work most weekends in the shop, meeting their guardians and working with the team, to learn more about the wants and needs of our guests. Being involved at these different levels makes the whole thing a truly enjoyable experience which will only get better!

Izzy - Holistic Groomer

I have always been passionate about animals from school bake sales for the RSPCA to now, where im lucky enough to groom dogs for a living and be a cat mum to two at home.

I trained at Bone Idol Academy IPET Level 3 where my love for the care and art of grooming really blossomed.

I have a soft spot for Schnauzers, adore teddy bear and cutesy styles and if you’re after a peachy, fluffy butt or a round Pom.. I’m your gal! Turning your Gremlins into Teddy Bears. Every groom is finished with lots of love, cuddles and a touch of crazy dog lady :)

The grooms I especially love include:

  • Poodles, Poodles mixes

  • Poms

  • Large Dogs

Lily - Holistic Groomer

Hi I’m Lily, one of the Groomers at The Natural Dog Groomers.

I’ve always had a natural pull toward caring for animals, so when I chose to step away from my marketing career, moving into grooming felt like coming home. I trained for my iPET Level 3 qualification at Golding Barn Grooming Academy, where I discovered how much I love helping dogs feel calm, understood, and beautifully looked after.

For me, trust is everything! I always work with each dog gently and at their pace, so they feel safe and supported throughout their groom.

The grooms I especially love include:

  • Puppy Intro’s and First grooms

  • Teddy bear, cute or creative styles

  • Short and Tidy looks

  • Hand Stripping

Olivia Helper & Saturday Assistant

Hi I’m Olivia, a helper at The Natural Groomers, you’ll usually find me here on Saturdays and during school holidays.

I’ve been part of the Team since July 2024, which means I’ve gotten to know many of your furry little ones really well.

I love working with animals and helping to make their grooming experience positive and gentle. I’ve grown up around animals and currently have two dogs called Rosie and Mabel.
